Who is under a boil advisory?
No details are available. Please call (419) 242-5040 with questions.
Why was a boil advisory issued?
In accordance with Ohio Environmental Protection Agency guidelines, a boil advisory is issued when the water pressure goes below 20 p.s.i. in the public water system.
What steps should be taken?
WE ADVISE YOU TO BRING ALL WATER TO A BOIL, LET IT BOIL FOR AT LEAST THREE MINUTES, AND LET IT COOL BEFORE USING. BOILED WATER SHOULD BE USED FOR DRINKING, MAKING ICE, BRUSHING TEETH, WASHING DISHES, AND FOOD PREPARATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
People with compromised immune systems should contact their doctor for additional instructions.
If you have any lesions or surgical incisions the water should be boiled as described above before being used for bathing.
The water may be used for washing clothes and for flushing toilets. It may be used for bathing if you do not have any of the above conditions.
When the water is turned back on, you may experience air or rust in your water. This is normal. Please run each of your cold-water faucets until the water clears up. Avoid washing clothes or using hot water until you have done this.
