Parks is responsible for the maintenance and mowing of 145 parks, over 400 boulevards, cul-de-sacs and green spaces. Through the Weed Control Program, we mow an additional 75+ properties that are assessed for that services. The Program also includes an aggressive chemical spraying plan.

Along with the Division of Recreation and other Sister-Divisions, we work to make your public lands safe and a pleasure to visit and utilize.

For general information, please call (419) 245 - 3357.

Forestry is responsible for planting and maintaining all trees on the public right-of-way (between sidewalk and curb), on boulevards, and in City of Toledo parks. Forestry also maintains a Woodlot where tree limbs and logs are recycled into landscape mulch that is used in playgrounds in City Parks, around trees and landscapes, and is available for sale to the public.

General Information: (419) 936 - 2988

Urban Beautification provides flower gardens and flower pots all over the city of Toledo. There are currently 130 garden sites at gateways, boulevards and parks. Additionally, there are 300 flower pots throughout the city. Urban Beautification provides color and life to Toledo's streets and neighborhoods. Citizens can adopt a garden through the Garden Partners program.

Important Note
The Emerald Ash Borer Beetle has killed more than 20 million ash trees in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Most of the devastation is in southeastern Michigan. Additionally, it has caused regulatory agencies and the USDA to enforce quarantines (Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania) and fines to prevent potentially infested ash trees, logs or hardwood firewood from moving out of areas where EAB occurs.

Do not move firewood. Click here for more information.
