Tennis Coach Bob O’Connell

Bob O’Connell has coached at Rogers (7 years of coaching) and Ottawa Hills (21 years of coaching) high schools; he is in the Ohio High School Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame. He has a plaque dedicated to his impact on the local tennis scene at Ottawa Hills. Bob O’Connell, who also taught history and had brief stints as a track and basketball coach, was inducted into the state hall of fame in 1991. The courts at Ottawa Hills High School also were named in his honor in 2006 along with a ceremonial rock.

Ohio Diamond Hawks Baseball Team
USSSA Major World Series Champion

This team of 11 year olds reclaimed the 11U Ohio State Championship then traveled to Birmingham AL to compete in the USSSA Major World Series, a 6 day tournament event. They competed against teams from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana and Texas to name a few. The team won the World Series Championship game 7-3 to finish the tournament a perfect 7-0 in games played.

Dee Pakulski, Director of Honor Flight Northwest Ohio

Honor Flight NWO, is a non-profit organization that flies WWII Veterans to the nation’s capital to see the WWII Memorial, which was dedicated in 2004. Veterans are flown to Washington DC on a one-day, all-expenses-paid trip.
